Oxidative Stability of Plascoat PPA 571

For the long-term durability of plastic coatings the oxidative stability needs to be examined in addition to the UV light stability.

The test used to measure the oxidative stability of MDPE pipes is EN 728 (BS 2782 Pt. 11 Method 1103D). The test is conducted at 200°C in a pure oxygen atmosphere.

The test results for Plascoat PPA 571 indicate that at 20°C underground there will be no significant change to the properties of the coating for at least 35 years.
